A private jet from Los Angeles to Las Vegas costs about $4,600 to $14,000 one way on a turboprop or light jet, based on the prices three charter brokers publish for this route in 2026. A round trip on the same aircraft is roughly $15,000 to $28,000. The flight itself is short: about 40 minutes to an hour in the air.

The price surprises people because it is much more than "an hour of flying". Most operators bill a daily minimum of two hours, and a one-way trip usually pays for the aircraft's flight home. Split six ways, a light jet still works out to roughly $1,000 to $2,300 per person one way.

Why a 45-minute flight costs this much

Two rules of charter pricing matter more on this route than on almost any other.

1. Daily minimums. Operators typically bill at least 2 hours a day on light and midsize aircraft, even when the flight takes 40 minutes (Paramount). At published hourly rates, two billed hours alone come to about $4,600 to $7,000 on a turboprop and $7,500 to $8,400 on a light jet.

2. The trip home. If the aircraft is based in Los Angeles, a one-way trip to Las Vegas usually pays for it to fly back empty. Add that second leg and the light-jet figure above reaches about $15,000 to $16,800, which is close to Paramount's published light-jet range. evoJets' lower ranges suggest it is pricing aircraft that do not need a full empty return, which is exactly why comparing quotes matters on short routes.

On a short domestic hop like this, US federal excise tax adds 7.5% of the charter price plus $5.30 per passenger (FAA, 2026 rates), roughly $350 to $1,050 on the prices above. Ask whether a quote is all-in.

Turboprop or jet for Los Angeles to Las Vegas?

For a flight under an hour, a jet's extra speed saves only a few minutes. evoJets recommends an executive turboprop as the best value on this route and advises against anything larger than a light jet. A turboprop such as the Pilatus PC-12 is usually the cheapest line in both brokers' tables and can use shorter runways.

Choose a light jet if you want a quieter, faster cabin or more luggage space; choose a larger jet only if your group is too big for a light jet's 5 to 9 seats (Paramount).

LA to Vegas private jet cost per person

You pay for the aircraft, not per seat. Using the published one-way ranges with six passengers:

AircraftOne-way totalPer person (6 passengers)
Turboprop (evoJets range)$4,600 to $6,300about $770 to $1,050
Turboprop (Paramount range)$7,500 to $10,000about $1,250 to $1,670
Light jet (evoJets range)$6,000 to $8,100about $1,000 to $1,350
Light jet (Paramount range)$11,000 to $14,000about $1,830 to $2,330

Seat counts vary by model and luggage often limits them in practice; check the exact aircraft with the operator.

How long is a private jet from LA to Las Vegas?

About 40 minutes to an hour in the air. Paramount lists about 40 minutes over 205 nautical miles from LAX; evoJets lists about 1 hour over 227 miles from Van Nuys. The time saved is mostly on the ground: you board at a private terminal instead of going through airline check-in.

Cheaper ways to fly private from Los Angeles to Las Vegas

  • Buy a seat instead of the aircraft. JSX runs public charter flights on this route and sells individual seats; it advertised fares from $229 in October 2026. Flights follow a fixed schedule set by JSX.
  • Fly a turboprop. On this distance it costs less and arrives only minutes later.
  • Book a round trip on the same aircraft if you are back within a day or two, instead of two separate one-ways.
  • Ask about empty legs. A discounted repositioning flight can work if your timing is flexible, but it can be cancelled if the original customer changes plans.

FAQ

How much does a 2 hour private jet charter cost?

At published US on-demand rates, two hours costs about $4,600 to $7,000 on a turboprop, $7,500 to $8,400 on a light jet and $9,400 to $11,000 on a midsize jet, before taxes, fees and repositioning (Paramount hourly rates). Two hours is also the typical daily minimum, so it is roughly the least you will pay for a short trip like Los Angeles to Las Vegas, before the aircraft's trip home.

How long is a private jet flight from Los Angeles to Las Vegas?

About 40 minutes to an hour in the air, depending on the aircraft and the departure airport. Brokers list about 40 minutes from LAX and about 1 hour from Van Nuys.

What is the cheapest way to fly private from LA to Las Vegas?

Buy a seat on a public charter such as JSX if its schedule fits, or charter a turboprop rather than a jet. If you need the whole aircraft, a round trip on the same plane, an empty leg or a fully booked cabin brings the cost per person down most.
