A private jet from London to Nice costs about £7,000 to £22,000 one way on a turboprop to super midsize jet, and £20,000 to £34,000 on a large-cabin jet, based on the prices five charter brokers publish for this route. The flight takes about 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours 10 minutes, usually from Farnborough, Biggin Hill or Luton into Nice Côte d'Azur.

Two taxes are easy to miss: UK Air Passenger Duty on the way out, and a French tax of €420 per passenger on a business jet flying back from Nice. Shared by six passengers, a light jet works out to roughly £1,600 to £2,400 per person one way.

London to Nice private jet cost per person

Nice is the usual airport for Monaco. Pick the London airport closest to where you start: on a flight of under two hours, the drive to the airport can take nearly as long as the flight.

When London to Nice is most expensive

  • Major event weeks. Global Charter says quotes can be more than 20% above comparable dates during the Monaco Grand Prix and the Cannes Film Festival, when aircraft and parking at Nice are in short supply.
  • Summer. Villiers puts landing, parking and handling for a midsize jet at Nice in July at £1,500 to £3,500, money that is often inside the "all-in" price but not in a "from" price.
  • Your return. If the jet waits for you at Nice over several days, ask whether crew overnights and parking are included or whether two one-way trips are cheaper.

Cheaper ways to fly private from London to Nice

  • Right-size the aircraft. On published "from" prices, a light jet is roughly £4,000 cheaper than a midsize jet one way.
  • Look for empty legs between London and the Riviera. They sell at a discount but run on the operator's schedule and can be cancelled.
  • Travel outside event weeks and the peak of summer.
  • Compare all-in quotes. A low "from" price can end higher than an all-in quote once handling and taxes are added.
